Birthmates Again

by Michael Groetsch

Eighteen years would pass us by
Before we’d meet again,
I turned around and there you were
You stood beside my friend,
It seemed as if we’d met before
Another time and place,
You softly looked and smiled at me
Such a pretty face.

Our souls first passed in silence
Like two ships in the Bay,
Not knowing that we’d meet again
The second time to stay.

We sat and shared our lives that night
Then graced the dance room floor,
Gently touched carressed and kissed
And knew we wanted more,
Months went by before we knew
We’d shared a room at birth,
Our family lives had briefly crossed
Another time and place.

Our souls first passed in silence
Like two ships in the Bay,
Not knowing that we’d meet again
The second time to stay.

So many years have passed my dear
I love you more than life,
You shared my first days on earth
And now you are my wife.

Our souls first passed in silence
Like two ships in the Bay,
Not knowing that we’d meet again
The second time to stay.
