What a wonderful tribute to fathers everywhere. The song fits perfectly with my websites current theme (Caregiving) at that celebrates our aging parents.
For all the baby boomers who loved the music and poetry of Rod McKuen. Sadly, he quietly passed away earlier this year like a fading landscape during the first winter’s snow. He left us with such a beautiful view of the world around us. RIP Rod. That night we spoke at your concert in the New Orleans Blue Room will always be remembered.

2015 Winter Theme: Hippie Revolution
“The word Woodstock will forever echo our moments in time as free-spirited and long-haired hippies.”
“As young hippies in the 60s/70s that strived for self-discovery, it was so amazing that we had rock groups like America who nurtured those efforts with their music and lyrics.” ~ Michael Groetsch

“As I watched this music video and listened to the lyrics, I realized how very often the present transcends into the future to repeat the past. You would have hoped that the social revolution of the 60s and 70s taught us a lesson. We may be closer to the Eve of Destruction then we realize. So very sad.”~ Michael Groetsch
“No one could tell a story through a song like Harry Chapin. His songs seemed to go on forever and captured the essence of being a hippie. Unfortunately, he died much too young and was not able to remind future generations that this life is not about us, it is about what we can do to help others.” ~ Michael Groetsch
“The Mamas and Papas were so well received in one of my past post, I broke my rule and decided to post the same group twice. What a way to begin your Monday morning!” ~ Michael Groetsch
